A visual narrative inspired by high tides, where the ocean dances and the moon sings.

Originally the first image in the series was for a class project to create an advertisement of our choice utilizing Photoshop. During which I chose to create a 2D animated movie poster. Soon this branched off into my own personal endeavor, storytelling without words.

Goodnight Waltz was created as an original concept for a film, about the ocean and the moon. This visual narrative was inspired by how the moon effects the tides. The moon and the ocean have a mysterious relationship between each other. I designed the ocean to be a restless child, someone who loves to dance under the stars and be free. While the moon is more of a motherly figure, who in the story only appears to sing the ocean to sleep. As the story progresses the ocean is captivated and pulled in closer, by the melody. The final image is a reflection of the beginning, ending off with the sleeping ocean cradled in the moons hands.
