These pages have been developed as part of my semester abroad at the University of Abertay Dundee. They are part of my children’s book ‘Lou’s big adventure’, which is particularly important to me. Texts as well as illustrations are all self-developed, designed and have gone through a very intensive and creative advanced visual research and creation process.
This is the story about the little lonely crocodile Lou who wishes to experience a big adventure when a falling star appears on the sky. Magically the stars transform themselves into ‘wish cookies’ and when biting into one of them Lou travels to different places in the world. In every spot, he finds a new friend and experiences a great adventure.
The book differentiates itself from other children’s books through a novel and fresh design approach. It transports the message that even if the situation seems to be hopeless, wonders can happen. Also, it shows, that no matter where you are from or to which culture you belong, you can find friends all over the world. Moreover it teaches the child about different cultures, continents and national typical animals.
